About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technician to join our team at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with our surgical team to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of asepsis and patient safety.
  • Coordinate with the circulating perioperative nurse to ensure seamless communication and execution of surgical plans.
  • Assist the surgeon by supplying sterile instruments and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor the sterile field during procedures and take corrective action as needed to maintain asepsis.
  • Prepare medications and solutions for use during procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain accountability for instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout the surgical procedure.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a surgical technologist program or 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery, Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
