Job Summary

The Department of Children and Families is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the critical role of Ongoing Unit Supervisor. As a key member of our team, you will provide supervision and guidance to Social Workers in their unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign casework to Social Workers based on their qualifications and abilities, ensuring effective case management and client outcomes.
  • Review and monitor unit casework to ensure compliance with policies and practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assess the level of safety and risk in unit casework, taking proactive steps to protect Social Workers and clients.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to Social Workers, enhancing their skills and knowledge to better serve clients.
  • Reconcile complaints and concerns from families, community contacts, and agency stakeholders, ensuring effective relationships and client safety.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to Social Workers, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Build morale and address personnel issues within the unit, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Coordinate and implement services that address client needs, working closely with Social Workers and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, or a related field.
  • A current and valid license in social work, issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
  • Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in social work, with a proven track record of leadership and supervision.
