Job Summary:

The Store Operations Manager - Head Clerk is responsible for maintaining total store conditions when in charge of the store, including directing all employees in all departments and ensuring customer service is at optimal levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and execute store displays, schematics, and resets to ensure visual merchandising standards are met.
  • Manage sales, inventory, and product orders to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee and direct activities of checkers, service clerks, and others to ensure efficient and timely customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure the safety of employees and customers.
  • Perform other senior or general clerk assignments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Wide range of product and pricing knowledge, store layout, safe work practices, equipment operation, and merchandising.
  • Ability to learn and retain policies and procedures, work within and promote a team environment, and read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience.
  • Minimum six months as Key Carrier or 9 months as Perimeter Department Manager (or equivalent grocery retail management experience).
  • Ability to work a variety of required retail hours.

Physical Demands:

Basic store and office environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects.
