Job Summary:

The Save Mart Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Operations Manager to join our team as a Head Clerk. This role is responsible for maintaining total store conditions, directing employees, and ensuring customer service is at optimal levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor sales, take inventory, analyze advertised sales, and submit product orders to ensure efficient stock levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee and direct activities of checkers, service clerks, and others to ensure timely customer service, adequate staffing, and safe/secure work areas.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure the safety of employees and customers.
  • Check out and total customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform other Senior or General Clerk assignments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Wide range of product and pricing knowledge, store layout, safe work and lifting practices, equipment operation, merchandising, and other relevant skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain policies and procedures, work within and promote a team environment, and perform basic math calculations.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience.
  • Minimum six months as Key Carrier or 9 months as Perimeter Department Manager (or equivalent grocery retail management experience).
  • Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.
  • Basic store and office environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects.
