Position Summary: The role involves the repair, installation, replacement, and testing of electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and systems within a marine environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections and tests on electrical equipment, lighting, communication, and power circuits.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Install grounding leads and connect power cables to various equipment, including motors.
- Install conduits, pipes, or tubing in designated areas, ensuring proper insulation and wiring to complete circuits.
- Examine electrical systems and circuits using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety.
- Diagnose issues in systems, apparatus, or components using hand tools and testing equipment to identify and rectify problems.
- Perform additional duties as required by the organization.
- A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a marine electrician in a shipyard setting.
- Ability to successfully complete all required assessments prior to employment.
- Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment.
- Basic mathematical skills and capability to operate hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with basic electrical meters and testing instruments.
- Ability to understand complex mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- General knowledge of ship repair procedures and testing requirements.
- Comprehension of instructions, drawings, and correspondence.
- Working knowledge of ship repair terminology and compartment naming conventions.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Hourly Rate: $28.00
