Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music and Arts Educator to join our team at Paramount Schools of Excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality music and arts education to students in grades K-6, while also contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development
    • Design and deliver engaging music and arts lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
    • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
    • Utilize data-driven instruction to inform teaching practices and improve student outcomes.
  • Classroom Management and Organization
    • Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
    • Manage classroom resources and materials effectively to ensure efficient use of time and materials.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure seamless collaboration and support.
    • Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to promote a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Professional Development and Growth
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in music and arts education.
    • Seek feedback and coaching to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Valid Indiana State Teaching License or equivalent.
    • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong musical and artistic skills, with the ability to teach a variety of instruments and art forms.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in music and arts education, preferably in a charter school setting.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proficiency in technology, with the ability to integrate digital tools and resources into teaching practices.
    • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of Paramount Schools of Excellence.
