We are currently in search of a full-time daytime Behavioral Support Specialist for our location in Indianapolis, IN.

Behavioral Support Specialists deliver personalized and group training to assist clients and/or families in acquiring essential skills (such as self-care, daily living management, interpersonal communication, parenting, illness management, anger management, positive coping strategies, and problem-solving abilities) aimed at alleviating psychosocial challenges for diverse populations including children, families, and adults. This Behavioral Support Specialist role operates Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities of the Behavioral Support Specialist:
  • Conduct interviews, provide counseling, and facilitate resolutions for clients facing social, emotional, financial, marital, health, or other challenges
  • Travel up to 95% to various locations to deliver services
  • Manage case services - assess, prepare, and execute case management strategies
  • Organize and lead client support groups
  • Maintain collaborative relationships and serve as a liaison between clients and medical personnel, as well as staff from agencies, institutions, homes, and facilities
  • Encourage and support clients towards independent living and enhanced self-esteem
  • Document and maintain comprehensive case records, reports, and forms, including follow-up and closure of cases
  • Adhere to Meridian Health Services standards, policies, procedures, and regulations in compliance with local, state, and federal laws, as well as ethical professional standards
  • Meet assigned productivity benchmarks
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, BSW) in relevant fields such as Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Education, Nursing, Recreational Therapy, Rehabilitation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Pastoral Counseling, or Child Development
  • One to two years of related experience preferred
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
