Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $130,000 annually, contingent upon licensure, experience, and geographical location.

Your Role:

The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding the nursing staff within the facility. This position is essential for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, executing physician orders, managing resident medications, and coordinating external diagnostic or medical services as prescribed. The DON will also act as the Infection Control Designee.

Key Relationships:

Internal: Collaborates closely with the Executive Director, National Director of Admissions, nursing team, Milieu Supervisor, and other facility leadership.

External: Establishes and nurtures relationships with clinical providers, referral partners, clients, and vendors as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and supervises the nursing team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitors daily vital signs and glucose levels of clients.
  • Addresses medical concerns and communicates with Nurse Practitioners as required.
  • Manages medication distribution and documentation processes.
  • Orders medications and ensures timely delivery from pharmacies.
  • Coordinates with insurance companies regarding patient medications and completes necessary forms.
  • Oversees blood draws and follows up on laboratory results.
  • Receives medication orders from MD/NP and conducts daily follow-ups.
  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies and places orders as needed.
  • Coordinates external medical appointments for clients with team members.
  • Ensures timely completion and documentation of nursing duties related to admissions and discharges.
  • Facilitates effective communication among medical and nursing staff, medical vendors, and C.N.A team.
  • Manages medication oversight, ensuring accurate documentation and training for nursing staff.
  • Collaborates with registered dietitians on client weight restoration needs.
  • Monitors laboratory tests, EKGs, and communicates results to medical providers.
  • Oversees pharmacy documentation, including controlled substances.
  • Manages the infection control program and quarantine procedures for staff and clients.
  • Ensures compliance with biohazard protocols and trains team members on infection control practices.
  • Conducts periodic reviews with insurance companies.
  • Coordinates the administration of annual vaccinations.
  • Participates in on-call duties as scheduled.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in nursing, an active state Registered Nurse license, and a minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience are required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a satisfactory three-year driving record.
  • Completion of a TB skin test or equivalent, along with a background check as per regulatory standards.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification is mandatory.
