Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will conduct intricate medical laboratory tests essential for diagnosing and treating diseases. You will be accountable for the precision of test results, the upkeep of sophisticated instruments, and the oversight of quality control and assurance programs.
In this capacity, you will:
- Execute specimen processing and testing independently, including moderate to high complexity testing.
- Analyze test outcomes and ensure their accuracy.
- Perform and maintain preventive measures on laboratory equipment; troubleshoot and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Exhibit proactive problem-solving abilities, identifying issues and taking appropriate steps, while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Manage quality control processes, including running controls, evaluating data, documenting findings, and taking corrective actions as required.
- Communicate relevant quality control information to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Anticipate and assess the need for new methodologies, instruments, and technologies based on customer requirements, cost-effectiveness, and revenue potential, and report findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and serve as a resource for both internal and external customers.
- Oversee assigned projects, including planning, coordinating resources, establishing timelines, updating management on progress, and completing projects within set deadlines.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A. High school diploma (or equivalent) with 15 years of clinical laboratory experience
OR
B. Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
OR
C. Bachelor's Degree with preferred clinical laboratory experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
One of the following certifications is required:
MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT). Certification may be waived for candidates with 5 years of laboratory experience.
