Project Manager - BioPharma GMP / Biologics

The Spear Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a groundbreaking new building project housing biologics processes. The ideal candidate will be a team leader and collaborative player with proven successes delivering excellence in project completion for a pharma client/owner in a collaborative environment.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the capital project and ensuring it is delivered on time, on budget, and with the proper safety and quality attributes to successfully meet client expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Pharmaceutical lab and office renovation/new construction experience
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document needs

Required experience and education include:

  • Min 15 years' experience running biopharma capital projects
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical engineering) or related discipline
  • Prior pharma experience required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
