The Diocese of Allentown is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our school facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Custodial Services: Perform daily custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and hallways.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs to buildings, grounds, and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of the school grounds, including lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal.
- Event Support: Assist with setup and cleanup for school events, including concerts, plays, and meetings.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as overflowing toilets and sudden structural hazards.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in maintenance and cleaning/janitorial duties.
- Skills: Ability to read and understand documents, including labels and instructions; knowledge of grounds and building tools and equipment operations; ability to perform minor repairs.
- Physical Demands: Ability to withstand constant exposure to climate change; working outdoors; ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; repetitive movements such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, and twisting.
Indoor and outdoor work environment; occasional work under inclement weather conditions; 6:50 AM - 3:50 PM schedule on school days, with occasional evening and weekend work.
