Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Diocese of Allentown. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform custodial duties, including cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining the overall appearance of school facilities.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and performing minor repairs.
  • Ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors by monitoring and responding to emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Assist with special events and projects, such as setup and cleanup, as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 5+ years of experience in maintenance and cleaning/janitorial duties preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, as well as work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols, including OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, with a regular schedule of 6:50 AM - 3:50 PM, Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required, as well as on-call duties for emergency situations.
