Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and oversee the issuance of permits. Guide clients through the application process and address a variety of inquiries. Ensure accurate data entry for all permits and manage payment processing.
- Handle incoming communications, including phone calls and emails. Organize and distribute daily correspondence.
- Coordinate the routing of building permit plans to relevant departments for evaluation. Schedule inspections across various departments including Planning, Health, Fire, and Engineering.
- Prepare and reconcile daily financial deposits, ensuring accuracy in permits and receipts.
- Maintain records in compliance with retention policies.
- Respond to Public Information Requests, which may involve thorough research and documentation.
- Assist with customer inquiries related to all planning, permitting, registration, and licensing programs managed by the Planning & Development Services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Two years of experience in customer service or general office roles, or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience in an office setting within the construction sector.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work autonomously while maintaining organization. Attention to detail is crucial for data entry and document preparation. Proficiency in operating business machines, personal computers, and accounting processes is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are required to navigate sensitive situations with both internal and external stakeholders.

Physical Demands:
