The Core Banking Systems Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of core data. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with technology, operations, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as the subject matter expert for core banking systems and its interface to other Bank applications.
- Collaborates with key business partners to continuously improve the core banking systems experience for team members.
- Identifies business, process, and technology trends that will influence current and future core banking system experience.
- Manages and maintains security credentials for various functions within Bank's core banking system.
- Assists in maintaining the quality, consistency, and integrity of the Bank's core data.
- Assists with the creation of new products and branches within core systems.
- Maintains and monitors changes to settings and parameters for core systems.
- Assists in making changes to the core bank records ensuring the change is in accordance with the SMAIL or change procedures.
- Assists with core system acquisitions/conversions and integration projects.
- Assists in developing effective and efficient core system application processes.
- Assists with business requirement analysis, documentation, and change management.
- Assists in the submission and tracking of core enhancements to improve efficiency.
- Assists and maintains security for the core, ancillary applications, and other information systems when appropriate.
- Develops and maintains work instructions to provide comprehensive learning reference materials.
- Ensures technology policies, procedures, and processes are followed.
- Assists in collaborating with departmental managers to improve cross-departmental processes and communication.
- Assists with incident and event management, including the handling of core outages to minimize adverse impact to business lines.
- Assists the Information Systems Manager with special projects.
- Assists in developing and maintaining a reporting framework.
- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience in banking operations or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Direct experience with bank core processor reporting.
