Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Core Banking Systems Specialist to join our team at Banterra. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of our core data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert for core banking systems and its interface to other Bank applications.
  • Collaboration and Improvement: Proactively collaborate with key business partners to continuously improve the core banking systems experience for team members.
  • Trend Identification: Identify business, process, and technology trends that will influence current and future core banking system experience.
  • Security Management: Manage and maintain security credentials for various functions within Bank's core banking system.
  • Data Quality: Assist in maintaining the quality, consistency, and integrity of the Bank's core data.
  • Product Development: Assist with the creation of new products and branches within core systems.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and monitor changes to settings and parameters for core systems.
  • Change Management: Assist in making changes to the core bank records ensuring the change is in accordance with the SMAIL or change procedures.
  • Acquisitions and Integration: Assist with core system acquisitions/conversions and integration projects.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in developing effective and efficient core system application processes.
  • Business Analysis: Assist with business requirement analysis, documentation, and change management.
  • Enhancement Submission: Assist in the submission and tracking of core enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance: Assist and maintain security for the core, ancillary applications, and other information systems when appropriate.
  • Work Instructions: Develop and maintain work instructions to provide comprehensive learning reference materials.
  • Policy Enforcement: Ensures technology policies, procedures, and processes are followed.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Assist in collaborating with departmental managers to improve cross-departmental processes and communication.
  • Incident Management: Assist with incident and event management, including the handling of core outages to minimize adverse impact to business lines.
  • Special Projects: Assist the Information Systems Manager with special projects.
  • Reporting Framework: Assist in developing and maintaining a reporting framework.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in banking operations or a related field.
Skills and Abilities
  • Data Analysis: Demonstrable ability to translate and present data in a concise, meaningful manner to diverse audiences.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to analyze potential project outcomes with the adaptability to redirect attention as needed to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability: A positive and proactive approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or adverse conditions.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to accurately and quickly complete standard mathematical calculations.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft systems and Office Suite.
  • Typing Skills: Intermediate typing skills to meet the needs of this position.
  • Reliability: Current driver's license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage; additionally, the ability to drive occasionally in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Independence: The ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: Direct experience with bank core processor reporting.
