Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team at St. Luke's Boise Medical Center. This role is crucial for providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Preferred candidates will possess oncology and/or chemotherapy certifications.
  • Chemo certification is mandatory for administering chemotherapy.
  • MS travelers without oncology/chemo experience are welcome, provided they have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
Job Responsibilities
  • Work a 13-week travel assignment in a medical-surgical unit.
  • Perform 12-hour shifts, with a preference for recent experience in gynecology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and post-operative care.
  • All applicants must have at least 2 years of nursing experience and hold a current BLS certification.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in chemotherapy, oncology, and/or bone marrow transplant is preferred.
  • First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
Schedule Information
  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.
  • Weekend shifts are required as needed to fill staffing gaps.
  • Participation in holiday rotation is expected.
  • Travelers will be the first to float to other units as necessary.
Unit Specifics
  • Unit: Medical Surgical, Boise Hospital, Floor 4 - Oncology.
  • Bed Capacity: 24 beds.
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-4.
  • Common Patient Diagnoses: BMT, oncology, gynecological oncology surgeries, hospice, and medical-surgical cases.
  • Charge Nurse available on each shift, who does not take patients.
  • Patient Care Technicians available with a ratio of 1:8.
  • Respiratory equipment includes CPAP and High Flow.
  • Telemetry technicians are present and must respond to life-threatening rhythms.
  • Floating to similar units within the St. Luke's campuses is required.
  • Scrub color is flexible; no hoods allowed.
  • Orientation includes 2 days on the unit with a preceptor.

This unit values teamwork and collaboration among staff. Please note that there is a radius rule of 50 miles for candidates, and the permanent address will be required for submission.
