Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our dedicated team at St. Luke's Boise Medical Center. This role involves providing exceptional care in a dynamic medical-surgical environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Preference for travelers with oncology and/or chemotherapy certifications.
  • Chemo certifications are necessary for administering chemotherapy.
  • MS travelers without oncology/chemo experience are welcome, provided they have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
Job Responsibilities
  • Engage in a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting.
  • Work 12-hour shifts, with a preference for candidates who have recent experience in areas such as gynecology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and post-operative care.
  • All applicants must possess at least 2 years of nursing experience and hold a BLS certification.
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in chemotherapy/oncolgy and/or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) is preferred.
  • Acceptable for candidates with 1 year of experience in oncology.
  • General Med-Surg nurses must have at least 2 years of experience.
  • First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule
  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM; scheduling managed at the management level.
  • Weekend and holiday shifts are required as needed.
  • Travelers will be the first to float to other units.
Unit Information
  • Unit: Medical Surgical at Boise Hospital, Floor 4 - Oncology.
  • Bed Capacity: 24 beds.
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-4.
  • Common Patient Diagnoses: BMT, oncology, gynecological oncology surgeries, hospice, and medical-surgical cases.
  • Charge Nurse: Present on each shift, not assigned to patient care.
  • Support Staff: CNAs available at a ratio of 1:8.
  • Equipment: CPAP and High Flow devices available.
  • Monitoring Staff: Telemetry technicians are present and must respond to critical rhythms.
  • Floating to similar units within the Boise, Meridian, and Nampa campuses may be required.
  • Dress Code: Any color scrubs are acceptable; hoods are not permitted.
  • Orientation: 2 days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor.

This unit emphasizes teamwork and collaboration among staff members. Please note that candidates must reside outside a specified radius to be considered for this position.
