Certification Requirements
  • Preferred candidates will hold oncology and/or chemotherapy certifications.
  • Chemo certifications are necessary for administering chemotherapy.
  • We welcome applications from Med-Surg nurses with a minimum of 2 years of experience, even if they lack oncology or chemotherapy experience.
Job Responsibilities
  • Work a 13-week travel assignment in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.
  • Provide care during 12-hour shifts, ideally with recent experience in areas such as gynecology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and post-operative care.
  • All candidates must possess at least 2 years of nursing experience and hold a BLS certification.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in chemotherapy, oncology, and/or bone marrow transplant is preferred.
  • First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
Scheduling Information
  • Shifts are 12 hours, from 7 AM to 7 PM; scheduling is managed at the administrative level.
  • Weekend work is required as needed to address staffing needs.
  • Participation in the holiday rotation is expected.
  • Travelers may be required to float to other units as necessary.
Unit Details
  • Unit: Medical Surgical, Floor 4 - Oncology
  • Bed Capacity: 24 beds
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-4
  • Common Patient Diagnoses: Includes BMT, oncology, gynecological oncology surgeries, hospice, and medical-surgical cases.
  • Charge Nurse available on each shift, who does not take patients.
  • Patient Care Technicians: 1:8 ratio
  • Equipment: CPAP and High Flow devices available.
  • Tele/monitor technicians are present; must respond to critical rhythms.
  • Orientation includes 2 days on the unit with a preceptor.
Additional Information

The unit emphasizes teamwork and collaboration among staff. Please note that candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to be considered for this position.
