Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Aircraft Painter to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a Senior Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for safely preparing, painting, and detailing aircraft according to schedule using company quality standards and operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aircraft Preparation and Painting: Safely perform aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision, coordinating with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
  • Team Leadership: Assist supervision with assignment and accomplishment of work for assigned team members, promoting high standards of quality through instruction and by setting a good example for other painters to follow.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms, and paint sprayers, properly caring for and maintaining shop equipment and tools.
  • Chemical Handling: Follow standard operating procedures when using sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals, using protective equipment as required.
  • Safety and Compliance: Comply with safety rules and procedures, being alert for unsafe conditions and addressing them before putting people or property at risk.
  • Material Tracking: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
  • Aircraft Movement: Assist with aircraft movement in hangars.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, 4 years related paint processes experience, and valid Driver's License required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Thorough understanding of the GAMPS, paint operations SPT manual, and paint WFR, advanced knowledge of paint processes and products, ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, and ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Physical Demands: Able to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification, able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  • Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate.
