Job Summary:

The Sah laboratory at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is dedicated to understanding the mechanisms of Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) and LRRC8a/SWELL1 ion channel regulation and signal transduction. We use a range of techniques, including electrophysiology, imaging, genetic mouse models, and biochemical and molecular approaches, to investigate the regulation of signal transduction mechanisms of novel ion channels.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in the Sah laboratory, focusing on ion channel biology and electrophysiology
  • Design and execute experiments to investigate the regulation of signal transduction mechanisms of novel ion channels
  • Analyze data and present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Collaborate with other researchers in the laboratory and across the university
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of ion channel biology and electrophysiology
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. biology, biochemistry, physiology)
  • Strong background in cell biology and protein biochemistry
  • Experience with electrophysiology and ion channel biology
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment, provide standard care to research animals, and handle human biosamples.
