Overview:

The Event Service Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the banquet and setup personnel to ensure that all events, meetings, and functions deliver exceptional levels of service and satisfaction to members and guests.

This role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, possess strong computer skills, and foster positive relationships with colleagues and guests.


Key Responsibilities:


Supervising banquet staff as directed by the Event Manager.
Assisting in the training of banquet staff members.
Participating in the recruitment, orientation, training, and development of personnel within the designated area.
Engaging in the performance review and evaluation of staff in the assigned area.
Leading, directing, and motivating team members to achieve high standards of service.
Identifying the need for disciplinary actions and recommending appropriate measures.

Interacting with guests to address any concerns or feedback.
Ensuring prompt and courteous food and beverage service by assigning servers to specific areas.
Monitoring guest satisfaction throughout events and responding to additional requests promptly.

Executing table-side food preparation and service as necessary, including wine presentation and service.
Addressing and resolving guest needs or referring them to the appropriate personnel.
Inspecting function rooms and equipment before events for cleanliness, proper inventory, and setup.
Coordinating the ordering of rental equipment and linens as needed for events.
Responding to operational or guest-related issues as they arise, ensuring proper follow-up with management.
Maintaining a professional appearance and personal hygiene while ensuring cleanliness in banquet areas.
Communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and management, keeping them informed of significant matters.

Providing value-added service to guests by going above and beyond to meet or exceed their expectations.
Ensuring all rooms are set up according to specifications and on schedule.
Collaborating with the kitchen to ensure timely food preparation.
Working closely with the Sales and Catering Department to facilitate successful events.
Participating in setup, serving, and breakdown as required.

Maintaining inventory and operational procedures for all audio-visual equipment.
Assisting with the monthly inventory of banquet supplies, including chairs, tablecloths, skirting, silverware, cups, and glasses.
Supervising assigned functions to their conclusion, including the closing of events and coordinating next-day setups.
Overseeing and assisting with the breakdown after events to ensure all equipment and supplies are stored properly.
Performing additional duties as required.


Physical Requirements:


Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and crouch.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., including overhead lifting and pushing/pulling lighter objects.


Qualifications:
State-required alcohol seller/server certification and food handling certification.
Must have the ability to frequently lift/move up to 30 lbs.
At least one year of experience as a Banquet Server.
