Job Summary

This is a leadership position within the Mayor's Office on Returning Citizen Affairs (MORCA) that oversees the Peer Navigator program. The Peer Navigation Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision, mentorship, and leadership to the Peer Navigator team, ensuring their professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor the Peer Navigator team to achieve program goals.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings to support staff.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for the Peer Navigator program.
  • Coordinate ongoing training in areas such as effective support strategies, cultural competence, and best practices.
  • Foster a continuous learning environment that encourages professional development.
  • Collaborate with the Case Management team to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting returning citizens.
  • Facilitate communication and information sharing between Peer Navigators, Case Managers, workforce, and outreach departments.
  • Monitor the performance of Peer Navigators and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Lead by example by engaging with returning citizens and providing support when needed.
Requirements
  • Direct personal or professional experience with the District of Columbia's returning citizens community.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with the returning citizen community with a focus on connecting people to available services and benefits.
