Job Summary

The Aspen Skiing Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at one of our premier mountain resorts. As a key member of our management team, the Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the financial success of the operation, ensuring the highest quality of food and service, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Develop and implement menus, manage inventory, and control costs to ensure the financial success of the operation.
  • Culinary Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional food and service to our guests.
  • Menu Development: Create and implement new menu concepts, specials, and promotions to drive revenue and enhance the guest experience.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Ensure that all food safety and quality protocols are followed, and that the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ordering, and receiving to ensure that the kitchen is always stocked with the necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and train a team of culinary professionals, including cooks, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the restaurant manager, executive chef, and other members of the management team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest service.
Requirements
  • Culinary Degree: A culinary degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • ServSafe Certification: ServSafe certification is required.
  • Driver's License: A current valid driver's license is required.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English, Spanish is preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Competent with computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Physical Demands: Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk, or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Work Environment: Regularly work in wet, hot, and humid conditions for extended periods of time, and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
