Position Summary
The Sommelier plays a crucial role in curating and maintaining an extensive wine selection for the ASPENX Mountain Club.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Club Manager to organize weekly wine tastings during pre-service
• Support and lead club management initiatives
• Participate in the recruitment and training of new staff members
• Ensure daily operations are maintained, including organization and restocking
• Update wine lists and BTG offerings daily
• Develop and distribute BTG descriptions prior to their introduction
• Continuously enhance personal wine knowledge and that of colleagues
• Assist in planning and executing special wine events and promotions
• Innovate and benchmark best practices related to wine service and club operations
• Conduct monthly inventory in collaboration with the wine director and accounting
• Ensure all systems are updated before service
• Complete assigned tasks and assist other departments as needed
• Maintain a professional appearance as outlined in company guidelines
• Follow emergency and security protocols as directed
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Food and Beverage Department and The Little Nell.

Qualifications
• Preferred college degree or equivalent experience in hospitality
• Minimum of 3 years in a fine dining environment
• Extensive knowledge of wines (completion of advanced level of The Court of Master Sommeliers preferred)
• Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Comfortable presenting to large groups
• Understanding of food and cooking techniques
• Familiarity with F&B finance models, including pricing and inventory analysis
• A passion for hospitality and a strong enthusiasm for food and wine.

Work Environment
• Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods
• Regularly work in humid and wet conditions, navigating slippery surfaces
• Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
