Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Saxon Global. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability and performance of our cloud-based applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
  • Ensure highly resilient, low latency, business continuity designs in multi-region application deployments
  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  • Monitor at the application level, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and recommend application configurations
  • Optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications
  • Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Ability to code small scripts with Python
  • Basic understanding with AWS network services (e.g., Route 53, CloudFront, Elastic Load Balancing)
  • Experience with Cloud Formation
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
  • Solid understanding of the common challenges with migrations and modernization, the ability to choose the right path based on previous experience
  • Experience of the full software development life cycle: from requirements gathering and functional specification authoring to development, testing, and delivery
  • Expertise with application observe ability patterns and site reliability practices
  • Extensive experience working with large distributed infrastructures
  • Basic Experience with AWS cloud platform - EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, and others
  • Experience with DevOps tools - CloudFormation, Jenkins, Ansible, and others
  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows, containers, databases, scripting
  • UX understanding of how platform itself works (superadmin UI) to check schedule, notification throttling
  • Ability to work with DynamoDB database, its scripts, to inactivate users, setup payment providers, notification throttling
  • Ability to work with Tremendous API, setting up payment providers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and multitask within a collaborative work environment
  • Willingness and aptitude for continuous improvement
  • Do the right thing attitude while being a strong team player
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, focus on customer service
  • Previous success in technical engineering
  • AWS Professional Certification or Training
