Job Summary

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Levine Cancer Institute. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced office setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Patient Care: Work as part of a care team to deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring quality requirements are met and patient satisfaction is enhanced.
  • Document Patient Information: Accurately and thoroughly document patient interactions and care in the medical record.
  • Telephone Triage: Conduct telephone triage, obtaining relevant patient data and symptoms, and providing guidance and instructions according to established protocols.
  • Lab and Diagnostic Tests: Track and log ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests, and present results to the provider.
  • Pre-Visit Planning: Collaborate with the care team to prepare for patient visits, including reviewing medical history and updating medication lists.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications, including injections, and monitor patient reactions.
  • Assist with Procedures: Support providers during procedures and examinations, and perform instrument and room clean-up.
  • Quality and Safety: Utilize standard precautions, comply with regulatory standards, and report patient conditions and reactions to the provider.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization as needed.
  • Electronic Documentation: Participate in electronic documentation of patient care at the direction of the provider.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in NC or SC.
  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Practical Nursing.
  • Experience: Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS required per policy guidelines.
