Job Title: Senior Level Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Level Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs on heavy duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • All other certification as required by location
Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
