Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Richmond, VA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and identify root causes of basic failures
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
