Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all vehicles within the fleet are safe, reliable, and ready for operation whenever required.

Key Responsibilities

This position encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the operational integrity of our vehicles.

  • Conducts all necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles.
  • Evaluates driver vehicle inspection reports for compliance and necessary actions.
  • Responsible for performing daily inspections on each truck.
  • Organizes the work schedule within the truck shop and maintains accurate maintenance records.
  • Ensures a clean and organized work environment.
  • May respond to roadside assistance calls for vehicles in distress.
  • Familiarizes with and adheres to all company safety protocols, recognizing the importance of safety as a top priority; participates in regular safety meetings.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least 3 years of experience in vehicular mechanical maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in work approach.
  • Proficient in basic math and computer skills.
  • A/C and Brake Certification.
  • Basic Component Replacement knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Diesel and Gasoline engine mechanics.
  • Class A CDL is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

The job will be performed in a facility that may present challenges such as wet or slippery floors and varying temperature conditions.
