Key Responsibilities

As the Field Services Operations Manager, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of construction managers, resident engineers, project representatives, inspectors, and administrative staff involved in the oversight of various construction projects.
  • May serve as the Construction Manager, Project Manager, or Resident Project Representative on designated projects, ensuring accountability for both production and management duties. This includes staff scheduling and professional development.
  • Manage the operations of the production section, focusing on staff development, profitability, morale, quality assurance, and marketing support. Select, train, and develop technical personnel.
  • Coordinate with the Area Field Services Manager and respective section managers to optimize the field services provided to HDR clients. Assume administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, leading and coordinating services across sections.
  • Engage in projects that may encompass civil infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and transportation-related systems, as well as water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and energy-related infrastructure.
  • Participate in client interactions regarding marketing, planning, proposals, interviews, project execution, and related matters. Collaborate with National Directors and marketing teams in local and national efforts.
  • Ensure that all work is meticulously planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through a proactive project management system. Verify adherence to Health & Safety protocols and implement corporate policies while supporting company policy and maintaining engineering quality control processes.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management and/or management roles.
  • Experience with alternative delivery construction methods is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
  • Experience and certifications related to DOT.
  • Experience in freight rail.
  • Certifications and experience in water/wastewater management.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates.
