Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, branch employees, management, and the credit and accounting team.
  • Review collection status reports to ensure outstanding balance payments meet company and department goals.
  • Evaluate delinquent accounts to ensure all appropriate collection efforts are used before assigning bad debt status.
  • Report uncollectible accounts to the Credit Manager.
  • Maintain regular, proactive customer contact, including daily collection calls for accounts over 30 days past due.
  • Run weekly reports of sales tax omissions by customers and save reports to a shared directory.
  • Collect customer sales certificates through emails or phone calls daily.
  • Electronically file and log customer certificates daily.
  • Monitor and maintain multiple group email inboxes.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or greater preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounts receivable functions.
  • 2-3 collections experience, business to business preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate transactions on an intra- and inter-company level.
  • Ability to mediate situations among employees and customers as they arise.
Technical Skills:
  • Intermediate user of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with an emphasis on the ability to prepare and analyze data using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.
