Key Responsibilities:
- System Design and Development: Analyze and evaluate information systems requirements and operating methods for a major area of information technology, requiring the integration and coordination of several sub-sections.
- Project Management: Develop plans for the implementation of recommended systems and procedures, and may supervise subordinates as assigned.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical expert in a highly specialized, complex field, and perform other related duties as required.
- System Services: Manage virtual infrastructure, data centers, and identity & access management, including server administration, email & file, backup, and service resiliency.
- Network Services: Manage the entire network infrastructure for Maui County, including Lanai, Molokai, and Hana, and design, manage, and administer network devices such as switches, routers, firewall, DNS server, and Wireless infrastructure.
- Portfolio and Project Management: Manage IT Enterprise projects throughout the County of Maui, including the intake and assessment of IT project proposals, and establish Project Management and Organizational Change Management processes, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Enterprise and Business Applications: Implement and manage Enterprise and Business Applications throughout the County of Maui, including liaison and business relationship management between IT, the business, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three and one-half (3 1/2) years of data processing experience in information systems analysis, including the conduct of feasibility studies and the analysis and design of information technology systems.
- Knowledge and Skills: Principles and practices of public administration, supervision, organization, and management; information systems and analysis, design, and development; office systems and procedures; knowledge of electronic computers, data storage media/devices, and other peripheral equipment, their capabilities, and general processes.
- Ability to: Gather, analyze, correlate, and evaluate facts and make sound judgments; determine feasibility of converting various manual work processes to computer operations; analyze and apply machine capabilities to data processing operations.
