Job Summary

A Clinical Allergy Specialist plays a vital role in managing the day-to-day operations of the United Allergy Services allergy center. This includes administering allergy tests, educating patients on allergen immunotherapy, and providing patient-centered care to those suffering from allergies in the communities served by United Allergy.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of allergens, the allergic response, and UAS clinical protocols.
  • Responsible for safe and effective immunotherapy processes, including the administration of quality allergy testing and the formulation and preparation of allergy immunotherapy.
  • Educates patients on administering injections with immunotherapy and ensures timely follow-up to monitor patient progress.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork and verifies insurance eligibility for each patient.
  • Administers patient scheduling through various channels, including in-person, phone, or UAS centralized scheduling protocols.
  • Responsible for handling and submitting billing documentation to the appropriate office via applicable EMR systems.
  • Maintains and secures clinic inventory levels, ensuring timely ordering and receipt of necessary supplies.
  • Develops and maintains effective, professional relationships with providers and medical office staff.
  • Escalates patient or other questions to the appropriate team member or provider in a timely manner.
  • Meets strategic goals and objectives of the clinic and company related to assigned clinic productivity and revenue.
Job Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of full-time equivalent work experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Nursing or other medical technician certification(s) as required by state or local regulations for the clinic area.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure suitable results.
  • Computer experience required.
