About the RoleAs a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Nephrology Department. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses with patient care and meeting the needs of hospitalized patients or nursing home residents
- Actively participating in nursing reports and contributing to the status reports of patients
- Providing complete and thorough personal care for patients, including taking and accurately recording vital signs
- Assisting with admission, transfer, and discharge processes while ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Promptly responding to patient and family member needs
- Completing housekeeping responsibilities and assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting, although this is not mandatory
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred but not required
