The Role:

Rêve Preparatory Charter School is in search of dynamic Spanish Language Instructors for the forthcoming academic year. Classroom Educators play a crucial role in furthering the school's mission by crafting a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum, being receptive to constructive feedback, and collaborating with the instructional team to address instructional and curricular needs.

Spanish Language Instructors are responsible for enhancing the school's mission through the creation of a challenging, standards-aligned curriculum, responsiveness to feedback, and teamwork with the instructional team on instructional and curricular needs.

In collaboration with the School Director, Spanish Language Instructors will help cultivate a positive school culture, design a college preparatory curriculum for each grade, including assessments and scope and sequence.

These educators will be instrumental in developing an elementary curriculum that provides students with access to the most selective high schools, colleges, and universities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the school's scope and sequence to formulate unit plans and daily lesson plans.
  • Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for review.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction or the School Director to refine and enhance daily lesson plans.
  • Create curriculum that caters to the diverse learning needs of all students, including those in special education and English Language Learners.
  • Implement and uphold all aspects of the school's systems and procedures, including homework, discipline, transitions, community celebrations, and classroom culture, ensuring a structured and joyful environment focused on growth.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and interim assessments and analyses, implementing responsive instructional action plans to ensure all students achieve mastery of all objectives.
  • Ensure that the school's academic standards are rigorous, clear, measurable, and aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Standards.
  • Employ a variety of methods to engage students effectively in the classroom.
  • Utilize planning periods to enhance student academic performance.
  • Commit to a minimum of 40+ hours spent at school each week.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the academic progress of all students.
  • Continuously analyze assessment data to refine curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Implement the school discipline policy to promote a positive and structured environment.
  • Collaborate with grade-level and subject-level teams to develop curriculum and strategic plans.
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians, involving them in their children's education.
  • Provide constructive feedback to Co-Teachers or Teaching Aides through established school processes.
  • Participate in all professional development and data analysis sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an urban public or charter school setting.
  • Teaching licensure/certification, or willingness to obtain, preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in content knowledge.
  • Exemplary work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Strong belief in the importance of parent/family engagement.
  • Commitment to overcoming achievement barriers for students.
