Job Title: Bartender

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for serving beverages and food in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, achieving a high level of guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean and organized bar areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests.
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks, adding a touch of elegance to our cocktails.
  • Verify the age of customers to ensure compliance with age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
  • Prepare and serve drink and/or food orders, taking pride in delivering exceptional service.
  • Take orders, serve, and clear food and beverage to guests seated at tables in bar and lounge areas, providing a seamless dining experience.
  • Issue guest checks and complete payment processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Follow standards for identifying and managing intoxicated guests, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels, ensuring our inventory is always stocked and ready.
  • Perform required side work prior to shift end, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work towards increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction, driving excellence in our service.
  • Assist with taking beverage inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our inventory management.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to our EarthView program, reducing our environmental footprint.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards, prioritizing our team's safety and well-being.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction, delivering exceptional service and exceeding expectations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • TIPS certification a plus.
  • Previous bartending/mixology experience required or equivalent training.
  • Food Sanitation certificate a plus, required within 90 days of employment.

Work Context:

  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends, and different shifts.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching with arms.
