Licensed Vocational Nurse

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver nursing care in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and maintain a safe and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide patient care functions, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care, within the scope of your competency and following established protocols.
- Assist medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic exams, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions, notifying physicians or healthcare professionals for disposition and ensuring timely interventions.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician orders, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, identifying and arranging for repairs as needed, and adhering to infection control principles.
- Monitor patient flow, assigning and directing ancillary personnel as necessary, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Provide medical information and education to patients, following established protocols and guidelines, and promoting patient empowerment.
- Document pertinent patient information, assessments, and nursing procedures, following established protocols and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
- Zero to one year of LVN experience.
- Vocational Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Level II required.
This is an on-call position, with varying days and hours. You may be required to support multiple areas of the medical office building, including pediatrics, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and the message center. Possible future weekend services may be required.
