Job Summary

The LVN Supervisor is a key member of the Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center team, responsible for overseeing clinic support services and supervising medical assistants, licensed vocational nurses, and floor leads. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of medical assistants, licensed vocational nurses, and floor leads to ensure efficient and effective clinic operations.
  • Provide administrative support, including planning and adjusting staffing levels, conducting performance evaluations, and providing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and standards, including patient rights and confidentiality regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve clinic operations and patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience as a supervisor or clinical lead in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in blood withdrawal, IV skills, and basic nursing procedures.
  • Knowledge of patient rights, confidentiality regulations, and proper medical record handling.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Competence in using PC software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a current BLS certification.
  • Venipuncture, Phlebotomy Certification, or Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certified.
Special Conditions for Employment
  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
  • Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
  • Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
  • TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
  • CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
