Autonomous Systems Test Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Autonomous Systems Test Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching and developing new approaches for test and evaluation of AI and autonomous systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop test requirements, test and safety plans, test processes and procedures, analysis methodologies, and test execution strategies for intelligent combat systems.
- Support the software, hardware, ground and flight testing of AI and autonomous systems, including testing at remote locations.
- Provide test and evaluation expertise to customers on performers testing approaches, plans, schedules, and capabilities to ensure program success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
- At least five years of relevant experience as a test engineer.
- Experience developing test plans/reports, and supporting live test events.
- Experience with developing analysis tools and techniques using Python, MATLAB, or other software coding languages.
- Demonstrated strength with communication skills - both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree (or higher) in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or another related field.
- Experience working with unmanned aircraft test and evaluation.
- Experience with test and evaluation related to autonomy, AI, and/or machine learning.
