Job Overview

Bitcoin Depot is in search of a Bank Secrecy Act Officer to lead the management of the Company's regulatory compliance initiatives. This role encompasses various critical areas including:

  • Bank Secrecy Act (BSA);
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML);
  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations and sanctions; and
  • Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) / Code of Ethics compliance.

This position is designed to be remote.

Key Responsibilities

The BSA Officer will supervise a variety of compliance functions and will lead a team dedicated to daily compliance, risk management, and operational activities that support the overall Compliance framework. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the Company's designated Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer and Officer of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC);
  • Report relevant compliance Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to the Compliance Officer and Company leadership;
  • Act as the primary liaison for all regulatory examiners and auditors, in collaboration with the Compliance Officer;
  • Maintain and update all BSA / AML / OFAC compliance policies;
  • Provide guidance and mentorship regarding BSA / AML / OFAC matters;
  • Register as the primary contact for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) 314b and assist with law enforcement inquiries;
  • Contribute BSA / AML / OFAC insights on all new Company initiatives;
  • Notify the Compliance Officer of any staffing or technological issues affecting the Compliance program's effectiveness;
  • Oversee BSA / AML / OFAC program evaluations, procedure development, risk assessments, and training initiatives;
  • Support Model Risk Management (MRM) through system optimization, model validations, and coverage assessments;
  • Assist with international BSA / AML / OFAC compliance efforts;
  • Support Vendor Management and Business Continuity initiatives related to BSA / AML / OFAC.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of six years of relevant compliance experience covering a wide range of regulatory topics;
  • Proven leadership abilities and the capacity to influence stakeholders;
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with various business partners;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities;
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations impacting the financial services and cryptocurrency sectors;
  • Solid understanding of compliance risks and internal control frameworks;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize findings effectively;
  • Capacity to quickly understand complex processes and identify risks;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience in a Money Services Business (MSB) environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
