Role Description:
The Therapeutic Radiation Specialist is responsible for the precise administration of therapeutic radiation in accordance with established departmental protocols. This role is essential in ensuring the highest quality of patient care, which includes the monitoring and delivery of therapeutic radiation as well as conducting CT simulations for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate scheduling, records, documentation, and billing processes.
- Exhibit strong patient interaction skills, tailored to various age groups.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine quality control measures in line with departmental standards.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols, including dose calculations and treatment methodologies.
- Utilize advanced equipment such as linear accelerators, simulators, CT scanners, oxygen tanks, computers, and immobilization devices.
Qualifications:
Must possess ARRT-R certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography and have graduated from a CAHEA accredited radiation therapy program.
