Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Southern California team. As part of the Structural Group, the successful candidate will assist in the planning, design, and plan production for specifications and estimates for a wide variety of structures, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and noise barriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing of concrete, steel, and timber structures
  • Conduct static and dynamic analysis using finite element analysis approach
  • Perform soil structural interaction analysis
  • Assist Senior Engineers with the preparation of design concepts, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
  • Prepare design calculations and check calculations
  • Coordinate plan details with engineers and drafting technicians
  • Participate in inspection and rehabilitation of structures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline: required
  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; preferred
  • PhD in Structural Engineering; preferred
  • 1-2 years of industry experience including: required
    • Performing static and dynamic analysis using finite element analysis approach
    • Performing soil structural interaction analysis
    • Performing deep foundation analysis and assessment
  • Experience with LSDYNA, ABACUS, and ADINA; required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel

Physical Requirements

The majority of work is office-based. Some site visits may be required, which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
