Key Responsibilities- Network Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, including associated wiring and equipment.
- Outside Plant Maintenance: Maintain and repair outside plant facilities, including climbing poles, using shovels and picks to dig up and bury cable, working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults (CEV), and locating buried telephone cables.
- Safety and Compliance: Observe all safety rules and regulations, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other technical personnel to perform duties, and assist in the performance of other technical tasks as needed.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Skills: Ability to distinguish colors on facilities, ability to handle 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs. routine work) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.), basic computer skills including MS Office applications.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g. attics, crawl spaces, utility holes), ability to work aloft (e.g. ladder), ability to work outside in all weather conditions and at various hours of the day/night.
- Soft Skills: Positive and professional appearance and demeanor, accountability and dependability, teamwork, active listening, and active learning.
- Experience: Prior experience as a customer-facing telecom operations technician, basic electricity training/certification or documented equivalent work experience, ADSL installation/repair experience (self/full installs).
- Certifications: A+/Net+ certified.
