Gastroenterology Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Gastroenterology Assistant to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our physicians and nurses in the Endoscopy department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Endoscopy procedures, including setting up equipment and ensuring necessary supplies are available.
- Collect, prepare, and label specimens accurately during endoscopic procedures.
- Provide clear instructions and explanations to patients to ensure their comfort and cooperation during procedures.
- Participate in pre-procedure briefings and time-outs to ensure a smooth and safe procedure.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, as well as ordering supplies as needed.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a G.I./Endoscopy Assistant or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in endoscopic-related procedures.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant course or LPN licensure.
- Strong knowledge base in maintaining and using endoscopic instruments and accessories.
- More than two (2) years directly working as a certified Endoscopy Assistant.
- Completion of G.I. Assistant SGNA modules.
