We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join our team at Jackson & Blanc, a premier mechanical and plumbing contractor in southern California. As a key member of our estimating team, you will play a crucial role in managing cost estimating, vendor qualification, equipment qualification, price solicitation, design assist support, and detailed plumbing/hydronic take-offs in support of our Construction Division.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete detailed take-offs of Plumbing/Hydronic Systems in accordance with plans and specifications using J&B estimating software.
- Utilize industry experience to complete design build estimates from preliminary layouts, conceptual designs, and BOD's for various marketplaces and system types.
- Obtain material pricing quotes for items not priced in estimating software.
- Review specifications and drawings for estimating accuracy.
- Develop and/or recommend pre-bid RFI's for assigned projects.
- Solicit and qualify equipment and subcontract vendors for assigned projects.
- Complete/Assist written proposals, technical proposals, project presentations in support of Project Executives.
- Provide Project Managers with change order cost estimating support when detailed material take-offs are required.
- Attend job walks as required.
- Support design build efforts and turnover efforts with technical assistance on complex piping systems including: plan review, field review, modeling assistance, and coordination with other design professionals.
- 5+ years of experience in plumbing estimating and/or equivalent field experience. HVAC hydronic experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma / GED required, bachelor's degree in related field a plus.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Proficiency in using estimating software.
