Our modular plugs and cable assemblies are integral to structured cabling systems, commonly referred to as premise wiring. All our connector products are engineered to comply with the latest performance standards, including Category 6a specifications for both Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications.
Primary Objective of Position
The Quality Engineer is accountable for the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of all quality-related functions associated with designated product lines within the organization. This includes upholding quality standards, planning quality initiatives, reporting, developing procedures, executing corrective actions, and collaborating with the Supply Chain to enhance supplier quality. The role requires establishing and achieving targeted performance metrics in product conformity and process capability. Any deviations from established plans must be reported promptly, along with recommendations for corrective measures. The Quality Engineer will work closely with management to create, refine, and execute policies that foster a results-oriented Quality Management System, driving improvements across the business and enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure effective identification of root causes through corrective and preventive action processes, implementing and validating plans to maintain effective quality systems and ensure permanent resolution of issues.
- Act as a catalyst for change, introducing measures that enhance production techniques, equipment efficiency, product quality, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Conduct routine data collection, entry, and reporting to verify product conformity, process capability, and equipment calibration.
- Establish and apply standards and methodologies for the inspection, testing, calibration, and evaluation of materials, products, returns, equipment, and processes.
- Develop sampling procedures and implement systems for documenting, assessing, and reporting quality and reliability metrics.
- Collaborate with management to further enhance and optimize Quality processes in alignment with ISO 9001 Quality Management Standards as applicable.
- Assist in conducting periodic Gap Analyses to evaluate the alignment of established goals and objectives concerning Quality system performance and organizational capabilities, rapidly developing and executing plans to address critical gaps.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and budgetary constraints.
Technical Job Functions
- Collaborate with colleagues to apply quality improvement methodologies for assessment, planning, implementation, and validation.
- Support mechanical and electrical testing for both new and existing products, raw materials, warranty returns, and calibration processes. Compile and present test reports with recommendations for enhancements. Construct simple test fixtures for material, product, or process evaluations.
- Contribute to the formulation of written policies and procedures essential for the effective administration and operation of the Quality Management System, ensuring timely updates as quality standards evolve.
- Enhance and maintain processes related to First Article, Corrective Action, Supplier Corrective Action, and 8D Reporting.
- Establish sampling procedures and implement systems for documenting, assessing, and reporting quality and reliability metrics.
- Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in Quality functions and/or Engineering roles.
- Proficient knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, Quality function management, Electronic Resource Planning, Product Realization systems, problem-solving methodologies, continuous improvement philosophies, and Lean/Six Sigma practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of management and across functional areas.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a comparable manufacturing environment.
- Previous exposure to quality disciplines in Telecommunications, Aerospace, and Space products, along with associated flowdown requirements.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Black or Green Belt, QMS certification).

- Minimal travel to customer locations and other company facilities may be required.
