bJob Title:/b Lead Instrument DesignerbrbrbJob Summary:/bbrWood plc is currently recruiting for a Lead Instrument Designer to join our team in Houston, TX. This role will function as the lead for an offshore project, responsible for engagement with the Houston and Workshare staff coordinating deliverable development while assisting the engineering lead to accomplish overall project objectives.brbrbResponsibilities:/bbrbr* Performs tasks with competency and extensive knowledge of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria.br* Supports the discipline engineering lead in maintaining Budget, Schedule, and adherence to the project scope of work.br* Coordinates and facilitates with Instrument Section Lead for staff assignment, change management, and discipline technical support.br* Attends project and client meetings, assigns specific design tasks to Houston and Workshare Instrument design team members, monitors production levels, performs checking/technical audits, and supports project reporting requirements.br* Reviews and applies project standards and documents to assure they are compatible and aligned with the overall project objectives. Brings discrepancies to the attention of the Design Coordinator for resolution.br* Works closely with peer project design staff as well as engineering staff to assure the integrity of project deliverables and documents are maintained, accurate, and consistent.br* Participates in all available technical training while continuously improving technical skill sets.br* Provides guidance and support to Instrument Designers.brbrbQualifications:/bbrbr* 2-year Associate's degree - Instrumentation Control Systems or equal training/experience.br* 15+ years industry experience, with experience as a lead on an Offshore project.br* Working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.br* Basic knowledge of industry-standard design tools, 2D CAD (Autocad & Microstation), Database applications (Smartplant Instrumentation & Aveva), and 3D modeling tools (E3D, S3D & Cadworks).br* Complete understanding of required scheduling, productivity reporting, and work process for deliverable production.br* Complete knowledge of department design and drafting standards and procedures.br* Strong ethical standards. High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work.br* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative.br* Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable.br* Accountable for results, and adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects.br* Team player that works well with supervisors, peers, and clients.br* Ability to work well with others in a team environment. Good communication skills both orally and written. Enthusiasm to learn.
