About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical Designer to join our Professional Engineering Consulting team. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of designers and professional engineers who specialize in Energy Projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and locate I&E equipment within a 3D model environment using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks.
  • Design site-specific Power Distribution and Control Systems per company, client, and industry standards.
  • Prepare drawings and concept sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, and other project-related activities.
  • Develop installation detail drawings for all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Size all cabinets, panelboards, cables, tray, and conduit per industry standards based on project scope and vendor information.
  • Prepare one-lines, wiring, and loop diagrams required for specified power and controls.
  • Apply quality control processes, checklists, and take ownership and accountability for completed work.
  • Research, review, and apply Company Standards, Municipality Requirements, and Regulatory Codes.
  • Perform independent QA/QC of drawings and verify structural and site-development layout meets project design.
  • Support Professional Engineers during project design phase and coordinate I&E design requirements with team members.
  • Review other discipline drawings to ensure coordination and drawing consistency with all I&E equipment.
  • Perform field-related work to obtain design information and verify designs for tie-ins.
  • Review and respond to RFIs throughout the project.
  • Review third-party vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with intended I&E equipment.
Qualifications
  • US citizen, Permanent resident, or Green card holder.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the following software/programs: AutoCAD, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detailed knowledge in the application of Codes and current Standards, including but not limited to: National Electrical Code (NEC), ANSI/ISA, API-RP500.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or 7 years of related design experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in power distribution or controls systems.
