Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Academic Support Specialist to join our team at Shelby County Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services to students with communication disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to the development of inclusive learning environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language therapy services to students with communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and other professionals.
  • Assess and evaluate students to determine eligibility for speech-language therapy services.
  • Communicate regularly with families and caregivers about student progress and recommendations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement programs that support student learning and social development.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Kentucky licensure as Speech Language Pathologist
  • ASHA certification
  • Experience working with students with communication disorders preferred
