We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our Utility Services team at the City of Wildwood, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of our wastewater treatment plant facilities and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and adjust the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the wastewater treatment plant, recording statistical data and maintaining accurate records.
- Operate, maintain, and repair malfunctions at the wastewater treatment plant, including repairs to gages, pumps, filters, and other controls and equipment.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and monitor water quality and turbidity levels.
- Perform quality control tests on lab equipment and lab analyses, evaluating procedures and results for accuracy and determining appropriate methods.
- Train and mentor lesser-skilled wastewater treatment plant operators on plant operational procedures, sampling, and maintenance operations.
- Calibrate, modify, or repair all instrumentation and control equipment, including chart recorders, chlorination equipment, high service pumps, well pumps, SCADA controls, ground storage tanks, elevated storage tanks, buildings, and structures.
- Valid State of Florida Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- State of Florida Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License - Class C.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License Class B (CDL B).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two (2) years technical training in biology, environmental science, chemistry, or a closely related field (two-year college degree preferred).
- One (1) year of experience in a wastewater utility.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience as deemed acceptable.
- 100% paid Health Insurance.
